Quick answer

Temple of Osiris is the sequel to Guardian of Light and supports one to four players. Lara Croft and Carter Bell join Horus and Isis to recover pieces of Osiris and oppose Set. It remains a self-contained co-op-oriented spin-off, not a numbered main-series game.

Relationship to Guardian of Light

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the official sequel to Guardian of Light. It keeps the elevated camera, combat and cooperative puzzle design but expands the team from two characters to four. It is safe to play on its own, although Guardian establishes the style of this spin-off line.

One to four players

Temple of Osiris can be played alone or with up to four players. Its cooperative design assigns the team Lara Croft, rival treasure hunter Carter Bell, and the Egyptian gods Horus and Isis. Player count changes how the group coordinates tools and navigates traps, but it does not turn the game into a main-series campaign.

Confirmed story setup

Lara and Carter enter the Temple of Osiris and become involved with Horus and Isis. The group must recover fragments of Osiris to stop Set. The official page describes Egyptian-underworld enemies, traps and puzzles; it does not place these events inside the Survivor trilogy.
