Quick answer

Aviaries are enclosed habitats built with barriers, support poles and a dynamic mesh cover. The launch Zoopedia lists 12 aviary birds; each entry supplies its land, flying-space and welfare requirements.

Build the enclosure

Frontier's confirmed aviary system uses habitat barriers, support poles and a dynamic mesh roof. That makes an aviary a managed enclosure rather than scenery placed around a bird. Start with the boundary and poles, then verify that the cover and keeper access are complete.

Meet flying-space needs

Flying birds have separate space and welfare needs. A wide floor plan can still fail when the usable flight volume is too small or obstructed. Check the selected species' Zoopedia entry, then retest after adding large trees, rocks or buildings inside the mesh.

Complete launch aviary roster

The checked launch Zoopedia lists 12 aviary birds. The golden eagle requires Deluxe; the other 11 are in the base-game roster.

Use the live Zoopedia category after an update because Frontier can add birds or change classifications.

Aviary build sequence

  1. Choose a bird and check its social group and flight-space requirement.
  2. Lay out the barrier and keeper access.
  3. Place support poles so the dynamic mesh can close the enclosure.
  4. Verify usable flight space before filling the interior.
  5. Add foliage and guest views in small stages, checking welfare after each stage.

When a large aviary still fails

Visual size and usable flight volume are not identical. Dense trees, scenery or poorly connected cover can reduce what the game recognises. Temporarily simplify the centre, confirm that the enclosure is closed and check whether a newly matured bird increased the required group space.

Do not confuse a missing bird with a bug

Check the edition filter, the animal's enclosure category and current accreditation or mode restrictions before troubleshooting. A Deluxe-only golden eagle will not be restored by rebuilding the aviary on a standard license.
