Quick answer

Square Enix estimates the demo takes approximately 3–5 hours and says it covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1. That estimate applies to the demo only. The official pre-release sources reviewed here do not state a reliable full-game completion time or total chapter count.

Demo length

Square Enix estimates approximately 3–5 hours for the free demo. Actual time depends on reading pace, battle settings, exploration, and retries. This is the publisher’s estimate and should not be treated as a guaranteed completion time.

Confirmed chapter coverage

The official announcement says the demo spans the opening through the end of Chapter 1. The announcement does not provide a full-game chapter count or a list of later chapter names.

Full-game completion time

No official full-game completion estimate was found in the sources reviewed for this guide. We also do not yet have independent completion data from a release build. Any precise number for the main story, completionist run, or chapter count would be speculation at this point.

After a verified playthrough, useful estimates should separate a story-focused run from optional content and report the difficulty and play style. Until then, the 3–5 hour figure applies only to the demo.
