Deadlock Release Date, Access and Platforms: Current Status
Deadlock has no announced release date and is not generally available. Here is the current invite route, the confirmed PC listing, and what Valve has not announced.
Applies to: Deadlock release, access and platform information published by Valve, checked October 16, 2026
Quick answer
Deadlock does not have an announced release date. Valve describes it as a multiplayer game in early development, says it is not yet available on Steam, and currently limits access to friend invites from existing playtesters. The official Steam page confirms a Windows PC listing; Valve has not announced PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, macOS or Linux versions.

Current status
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Is Deadlock released? | No. Steam says it is not yet available. |
| Release date | To be announced. |
| Can people play it? | Yes, through the limited playtest invite route. |
| Confirmed store platform | Windows PC through Steam. |
Valve calls Deadlock a multiplayer game in early development. The store warning also says the build contains temporary art and experimental gameplay, so the playtest should not be read as a finished release.
How access works
Valve's published route is specific: access is currently limited to a friend invite from someone who already has playtest access. The Steam page does not advertise a public sign-up form, a paid founder pack or an Early Access purchase.
- Ask an existing Deadlock playtester to send an invite through the route available to them.
- Wait for Steam to grant access to your account.
- Install the playtest build from your Steam library once access appears.
Confirmed platforms
| Platform | Status | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Confirmed listing | The official Steam page lists Windows and a 64-bit operating-system requirement. |
| macOS / Linux | Not announced | The official listing does not publish builds or requirements for either platform. |
| PlayStation / Xbox / Nintendo | Not announced | Valve's official Deadlock pages do not name console versions. |
SteamDB records Source 2 and Windows metadata, but SteamDB is a third-party database. It supports the Windows reading; it does not turn silence about another platform into a cancellation or permanent exclusion.
What remains unknown
- A launch date or release window. Valve publishes neither.
- A price or business model. The playtest's limited access does not establish how the finished game will be sold.
- Final PC requirements. The Steam requirement fields are still marked TBD.
- Console, macOS, Linux and Steam Deck plans. None is confirmed by Valve's published pages.
- When invites will end or broaden. Valve does not publish a timetable.
Avoid outdated instructions
Deadlock's access rules can change before launch. Prefer the notice on the official Steam page over older articles, social posts or marketplace listings. Do not buy an account or a supposed invite code: Valve's current wording describes an invitation from an existing playtester, not a product sold by a third party.

Checked October 16, 2026. This page reports only published availability. It does not predict a launch date, price or unannounced platform.
The source set was checked on October 16, 2026 against Valve's Steam listing, official Deadlock forum, City Never Sleeps page, changelog and Steam announcements; the live roster and news timeline were rechecked on October 17 after Violet became playable. Clearly labelled third-party sources are used only where Valve does not publish a complete beginner rules page or exhaustive interaction reference. Deadlock is still in development, so roster, rules, mechanics and access conditions must be rechecked after major updates.
Not independently play-tested. This is not a claim that every platform or game version was tested. Source review: Oct 16, 2026.
