A new HD-2D RPG built from the first Brave Exvius story arc.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is scheduled to release on October 22, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Xbox on PC. Square Enix says the story draws on the first arc of FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS, but has been extensively rebuilt as a console-quality RPG rather than directly ported.
The official description highlights turn-based battles, Crystals, airships, espers, chocobos, and returning FINAL FANTASY characters. In combat, the published overview describes exploiting weaknesses to stagger enemies, gain extra turns, and use Resonance attacks.

Do you need to play another Final Fantasy first?
Square Enix identifies the first story arc of FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS as the story source. The official announcement does not say that players must finish another game first, so this hub does not present prior play as a requirement. It also does not claim that every story connection or returning character is fully documented here.

Try the first chapter
The free demo covers the opening through the end of Chapter 1. Square Enix estimates approximately 3–5 hours and says demo save data can carry over to the full game. Nintendo warns that save data cannot transfer between the Switch and Switch 2 editions, so do not treat demo-to-full-game carry-over as a cross-edition promise.
