Dragon's Dogma 2 Portcrystals and fast travel — current 2026 guide
Use the Eternal Ferrystone, activate six current fixed Portcrystals and place portable crystals where the 2026 map still has gaps such as Sacred Arbor.
Applies to: Base-game fast travel through Title Update 4.0 · special world states and Norgan details are separately qualified
Quick answer
After talking to Brant during Seat of the Sovran, the June 2026 update grants an Eternal Ferrystone for reusable travel. The current normal-world fixed Portcrystals documented across launch and official updates are Vernworth, Harve Village, Bakbattahl, Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town and Volcanic Island Camp. Sacred Arbor still needs a portable Portcrystal if you want a direct destination; the reviewed 2026 notes do not add a fixed one there.

Current-build correction: launch guides list only Vernworth and Harve Village as fixed Portcrystals. Capcom added Bakbattahl in September 2024, then Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town and Volcanic Island Camp in June 2026. This page uses the updated network.
The current 2026 fast-travel system
Capcom says it is awarded after speaking to Brant during Seat of the Sovran. Saves that had already cleared the condition receive it automatically in inventory.
Still consumable. The June 2026 update reduced its shop price to 5,000 G.
The same update lets you use a Ferrystone by selecting a Portcrystal with the map cursor.

Six fixed Portcrystals in the normal world
| Destination | When documented | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Vernworth | Launch | Capital anchor; activate it when first reached. |
| Harve Village | Launch | Coastal Vermund anchor. Capcom fixed a placement bug in September 2026. |
| Bakbattahl | September 2024 update | Fixed destination for Battahl’s capital. |
| Melve | June 2026 update | Fixed northern Vermund destination. |
| Checkpoint Rest Town | June 2026 update | Border and western-route staging point. |
| Volcanic Island Camp | June 2026 update | Southern Agamen Volcanic Island anchor. |
The two launch points are documented by PowerPyx’s March 2024 guide; later additions come from Capcom’s dated patch notes. Both Checked October 15, 2026.
Reported portable Portcrystal sources
- Feast of Deception reward.
- Sphinx’s Riddle of Madness reward.
- An optional duplicate through Riddle of Conviction if a Portcrystal is offered.
- A Trial of Archery reward.
- Griffin nest in Misty Marshes.
- Exchange with the Dragonforged for 20 Wyrmslife Crystals.
- Monster Culling reward, added officially in June 2026 and granted retroactively when its condition had already been met.
The first six sources are attributed to PowerPyx · Checked October 15, 2026. The Monster Culling addition is confirmed by Capcom · Checked October 15, 2026. This page does not assert a portable-placement cap because the reviewed current sources do not establish one reliably.
Sacred Arbor still needs your own anchor
The official 2026 notes reviewed here add fixed Portcrystals to Bakbattahl, Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town and Volcanic Island Camp, but do not name Sacred Arbor. If you expect repeat visits, place a portable Portcrystal in an allowed outdoor spot near the settlement and verify that its marker appears before leaving.
“Sacred Arbor has no fixed Portcrystal” is the current conclusion from the reviewed official additions, not a claim that Capcom can never add one. Recheck after a map or travel update.
Place, verify, move, travel
- Select a portable Portcrystal from inventory in an allowed outdoor location.
- Open the map and confirm the new destination marker.
- Use the Eternal Ferrystone or a consumable Ferrystone and choose that marker.
- If the location is no longer useful, return, pick the portable crystal up and redeploy it elsewhere.
Keep one portable crystal uncommitted when actively questing so a remote escort, Sphinx shrine or collection circuit does not force repeated long walks. This is editorial route advice. Special world states and Dark Arisen’s Norgan network are outside the six-point normal-world list and should be checked in their own current context.
