Enshrouded Crossplay and Cross-Save: Can PC and PS5 Play Together?
Separate the current crossplay answer from save transfer, platform player limits, and Adventure Sharing across platforms.
Applies to: Enshrouded 1.0 · Steam PC and PlayStation 5
Quick answer
No. Steam PC and PS5 players cannot join the same live Enshrouded session at 1.0 launch. Keen Games says cross-platform play is in development but gives no ETA. The same FAQ does not confirm cross-save or direct character transfer between Steam and PS5, so do not treat future crossplay as a promise of shared progression. Adventure Sharing has separate cross-platform terms for shared user-created worlds, but that is not live crossplay or account-level cross-save.

What works today
| Question | Current answer | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Can Steam PC join PS5? | No, not at 1.0 launch | Keen says cross-platform play is in development with no ETA. |
| Can Steam PC players join each other? | Yes, within the PC version | Steam lists online co-op for up to 16; dedicated and peer-to-peer hosting are documented for PC. |
| Can PS5 players join each other? | Yes, within PS5 | PlayStation lists up to 8 online players with PS Plus. |
| Can a character save move between Steam and PS5? | Not confirmed | The launch FAQ’s cross-platform statement does not document cross-save. |
| Can shared worlds cross platforms? | Adventure Sharing terms allow cross-platform display and download | This is shared user content, not a live mixed-platform session or account save sync. |
Crossplay is still being developed
Keen’s October 13 launch FAQ explicitly says Enshrouded will not be cross-platform at launch. The studio says it is working on the feature but has no estimate for how long it will take. There is therefore no PC-to-PS5 lobby setting, server flag, or workaround that this guide can responsibly recommend.
Cross-save is a separate promise
Crossplay lets different platforms share a session. Cross-save moves or synchronizes character and world progress. One does not guarantee the other. Steam Cloud manages saves within the Steam ecosystem, while the reviewed launch FAQ does not publish a Steam-to-PS5 save-transfer process.
Do not copy PC save files into a console workflow or give account credentials to a third-party “transfer” service. Keep backups on the platform where the save was created and wait for a Keen support article that names both source and destination platforms.
Adventure Sharing is not cross-save
Keen’s Adventure Sharing terms say uploaded user content can be displayed and downloaded across platforms. The feature concerns community-created worlds and visits. The same terms explain that Visiting mode does not save earned experience, picked-up items, or achievements to the visitor’s profile. That makes it a creation-sharing route—not evidence that your normal character or live co-op session moves between platforms.
Plan a group without losing progress
- Choose one currently released platform for the entire live co-op group.
- Use the applicable limit: Steam lists up to 16 players; PS5 lists up to 8.
- Choose a regular host or PC dedicated server before investing heavily in one shared world.
- Back up PC world and character data before migrations or major patches.
- Revisit the official FAQ after any patch that explicitly names cross-platform play or cross-save.
What would change this page
This answer changes only when Keen publishes a release note or support document enabling cross-platform sessions, specifies compatible platform pairs, or documents a cross-save account and transfer process. An Xbox launch by itself would not prove that all three platforms share sessions or progression.
