Gears of War: E-Day achievements and campaign completion
Plan campaign completion around acts, co-op, side objectives, Hard Cases and collectibles.
Applies to: Launch Xbox achievement list · platform tracking may differ
Quick answer
Xbox published 54 achievements. Separate campaign goals include completing all acts, finishing them in co-op or on Insane, completing secondary objectives, discovering Hard Cases and finding collectibles.

Which campaign goals are separate?
Xbox Wire's launch list has 54 achievements. Its campaign-related entries distinguish finishing the acts, finishing all acts in co-op, finishing on Insane difficulty, completing all secondary objectives, discovering all Hard Cases and finding all collectibles. The higher-level “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and “Dead Serious” achievements combine several of these goals with other requirements. Read each achievement's exact description before planning a single-run route.
A practical completion route
- Finish the story at a difficulty that suits you and identify which acts or chapters need a return visit.
- Track collectibles, Hard Cases and secondary objectives separately in the War Journal. The Act 1 checklist covers only standard collectibles.
- Plan co-op and Insane requirements as separate checks. Do not assume an ordinary solo completion satisfies them.
- Before attempting a very long mastery goal, compare your current in-game progress with the official achievement text and current patch notes.
What if an achievement does not unlock?
Players have reported campaign progress and achievement mismatches. An October 5 official update addressed several War Journal and join-in-progress issues, but it does not establish that all tracking problems are fixed. Keep a record of the affected act, platform and game version, check the official support route and avoid deleting cloud saves based only on forum advice.
