Star Wars: Galactic Racer single-player and offline modes
Learn what works offline, what needs a connection and what the story campaign actually covers.
Applies to: Campaign, Arcade and Scenarios
Quick answer
The campaign, Arcade events and Scenarios can be played offline. PC players need an internet connection for first-launch authentication; multiplayer and connected Arcade leaderboards require online access.

What can I play alone?
The story campaign follows Shade, a racer pursuing glory and revenge in the Galactic League. The developer also names Arcade events and Scenarios as solo-accessible activities. If you want individual events rather than the story, Arcade is the more direct starting point.
What works without an internet connection?
The developer FAQ says the campaign, Arcade events and Scenarios can be played offline. It gives one important PC exception: the first launch needs internet access for authentication. Downloading patches and updates also requires a connection. Plan that first launch before travelling or switching to an offline setup.
Which features need a connection?
Online multiplayer requires internet access, as do connected Arcade leaderboards. The developer describes the Arcade leaderboard as showing your best time to friends rather than being a public leaderboard. Offline Arcade play and an online Arcade leaderboard are thus separate features.
One third-party trophy roadmap estimates about 70–100 hours for a platinum completion run. That is not an official estimate for finishing Shade’s campaign, so it should not be used as the game’s ordinary story length.
