Gears of War: E-Day crossplay and account linking

Separate cross-platform multiplayer, optional account linking, roaming saves and Xbox Play Anywhere licensing.

Quick answer

Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer. Optional account linking supports roaming saves, connected friends and cross-platform invites. These features do not mean one purchase grants every storefront license, and the official pages do not document every possible mixed-party combination.

What does crossplay confirm?

Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer. The campaign supports up to four online players, while competitive multiplayer is listed for up to eight. Mode limits are separate, so do not apply the campaign count to every playlist.

Optional account linking

Steam says linking supports roaming saves, connected friends and cross-platform invitations. Use the same identity consistently. “Optional” describes this connection feature; storefront operation can still require its normal platform account.

Crossplay is not cross-buy

Invitations do not grant a second store license. Xbox Play Anywhere covers eligible Xbox digital purchases; Steam is separate. The listings do not document every unusual mixed-party arrangement, so verify those in the current invite menu.
