Dragon's Dogma 2 editions and Dark Arisen buying guide
Compare the base game, legacy Deluxe Edition, standalone Dark Arisen expansion and current bundle without paying twice for content.
Applies to: Current Steam products and Capcom platform announcement · regional prices checked at purchase time
Quick answer
Already own Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S? Buy the standalone Dark Arisen Expansion for that platform. Starting fresh on Steam? Compare the base game with the current Dark Arisen bundle, which includes the base game, expansion, Explorer’s Camping Kit and Music & Sound Collection. The older Deluxe Edition contains the New Journey Pack, not the Dark Arisen expansion. Switch 2 combines the base game and expansion in one product.

Price rule: this page identifies products and included content. It does not freeze a regional price, sale or physical-stock claim. Store totals must be checked in the account and region that will make the purchase.
What should you buy?
- Already own Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S: check the standalone Dark Arisen Expansion on the same platform.
- Do not own the base game: compare the base game with the current Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen bundle. The Steam bundle includes the game, expansion, Explorer’s Camping Kit and Music & Sound Collection.
- Buying on Switch 2: Capcom describes one product combining the main game and expansion.
- Own the old Deluxe Edition: do not assume it includes Dark Arisen. Deluxe was the base game plus the New Journey Pack.

What the old Deluxe Edition actually contains
The historical Steam listing describes Deluxe as the base game plus A Boon for Adventurers — New Journey Pack. That pack includes the Explorer’s Camping Kit, Music & Sound Collection, Harpysnare Smoke Beacons, Heartfelt Pendant, Ambivalent Rift Incense, Makeshift Gaol Key, Art of Metamorphosis, a Wakestone and 1,500 Rift Crystals. Those convenience items do not create a Dark Arisen entitlement.
Some of these older add-ons may be discontinued, sold separately or already present on an account. The account’s library and current store cart are stronger purchase evidence than an old edition name.
Avoid duplicate purchases
- Sign in before comparing prices so the store can recognize owned products.
- Open the package details and check every included item; do not infer contents from “Deluxe” or “Dark Arisen” alone.
- Compare the standalone expansion against the bundle price only after owned-item adjustments appear.
- Record currency, tax treatment and sale end date if comparing regions. This guide does not recommend changing region.
The Steam DLC page listed the standalone expansion at US$29.99 when reviewed, while the current bundle page displayed US pricing separately. These are dated US-store observations, not universal prices. Steam DLC catalog · Checked October 15, 2026.
Platform and save limits
Buy DLC on the platform where the compatible base-game entitlement and save exist. Capcom lists Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; the announcement does not establish PS4, Xbox One or original Switch versions. It also does not promise cross-buy or cross-save between stores.
