ARC Raiders Skill Tree: Branches, Tiers and Respec Cost

How the ARC Raiders skill tree is built — three branches, how points are earned, the tier thresholds and the respec cost — with the Frozen Trail overhaul noted.

Quick answer

The ARC Raiders skill tree has three branches — Conditioning, Mobility and Survival — and you spend Skill Points earned by levelling up. The community wiki reports 76 points from levelling, plus up to five per completed Expedition, and a respec cost of 2,000 Coins per point (added in patch 1.7.0) with no per-branch reset. Deeper "large" nodes unlock at 10, 30 and 40 points spent in a branch. Embark Studios overhauled the whole tree in the Frozen Trail 2.0 update, adding nodes and removing 13 skills, so older build advice may be out of date. These figures are player-tested and community-maintained, not published by Embark Studios.

At a glance

The ARC Raiders skill tree has three branches — Conditioning, Mobility and Survival — and you spend Skill Points earned by levelling up. Deeper "large" nodes unlock once you have spent enough points in a branch, and the whole tree was rebuilt in the Frozen Trail 2.0 update, so older build guides may no longer apply.

These figures are player-tested, not official. Embark Studios has not published a skill-tree reference. The numbers below come from the community-run ARC Raiders Wiki, whose own notes say the values were found through player testing and "may not be completely accurate". They are labelled third-party throughout, and any build advice dated before October 8, 2026 predates the Frozen Trail overhaul.

The three branches

The three skill branches (community wiki)
BranchThemes
ConditioningHandling weight and gear: reduced shield and weapon encumbrance, faster breaching, staying effective under pressure.
MobilityMovement and stamina: sprinting and dodging cost less, larger stamina pools, faster climbing and vaulting.
SurvivalLooting and utility: faster searching, more carry weight, quieter looting, in-round crafting and access to Security Lockers.

You can spread points across branches freely; the constraint is that many skills only appear after you have invested a certain number of points in the branch they sit in.

How many points you get

Each level-up grants one Skill Point. The community wiki records 76 points from levelling, with up to five more per completed Expedition — so a character who has taken every Expedition bonus can push the total higher. Because Expeditions are currently paused (see the Expedition page), the only route to those bonus points right now is a future Expedition cycle.

Node tiers and thresholds

Small nodes let you progress along a path and vary in how many points they can absorb. The diamond-shaped large nodes offer a choice between several skills, and they open at spending thresholds inside their branch:

Large-node thresholds (community wiki)
Large nodePoints spent in the branch
First10 points
Second — first choice30 points
Second — second choice40 points

You cannot reach a capstone skill without investing in the foundation nodes before it, which is why a balanced split often beats going all-in on one branch early.

Respec and cost

Players can reset the entire skill tree by spending 2,000 Coins per Skill Point, a feature the wiki dates to patch 1.7.0. There is no option to reset a single branch or a single skill, so a full respec at high level is a large spend — worth planning on a builder before you commit.

The Frozen Trail overhaul

The Frozen Trail 2.0 update "completely overhauled" the skill tree, according to the wiki's patch history: it added new skills and nodes, rearranged others, and removed 13 skills outright. That makes version-checking essential — a build video from September 2026 may describe a node that no longer exists.

Why these numbers are third-party

Embark Studios does not publish a skill-tree table, so every number on this page carries the wiki's own caveat. Treat the branch names and the general shape as reliable, the exact point totals and thresholds as community-recorded, and any specific build as needing a live check against the tree in your own game client.

Sources and review scope

Checked on October 15, 2026. No value on this page is presented as an official figure: Embark Studios has not published one, and the community values are flagged as player-tested. Build recommendations are deliberately kept general for that reason.

How this guide was checked

Checked on October 15, 2026 against the Steam store listing and the Steam Web API app-details, current-players, review-summary and news endpoints for ARC Raiders, and Embark Studios' own posts on arcraiders.com. Live figures such as the concurrent-player count and the review total are timestamped snapshots that keep moving and are labelled as such. Game-internal details that Embark Studios has not published come from the community-run ARC Raiders Wiki and are labelled third-party, not official. Player-tested values are marked as such. Anything neither source states is written as unconfirmed rather than guessed.

Not independently play-tested. This is not a claim that every platform or game version was tested. Source review: Oct 15, 2026.
