Quick answer
The current build is 1.0.1.4, released on October 14, 2026. Two patches have shipped since the October 8 launch. Version 1.0.10 on October 12 added voice chat, an anti-cheat system, adjusted spawns and spawn protection, and more than ten bug fixes. Version 1.0.1.4 on October 14 added private password lobbies and fixed anti-cheat false kicks, a missing-audio problem and various join and crash issues. The version number sits in the bottom-right corner of the menu.

Current status at a glance

Two details from those notes are worth pulling out, because they explain a lot of what players were reporting in the first week.
- Voice chat is push-to-talk by default. The 1.0.10 notes state push-to-talk is on by default on the T key, with the option to switch to an open microphone in settings.
- Spawn protection arrived with the first patch. The developer acknowledged the spawn complaints directly and noted that some maps are inherently small, so time-to-kill stays short on maps such as Supermarket.
Fixed, partly fixed, unchanged
The most useful way to read these notes is as a checklist against the complaints that dominated the launch week. The table separates what the developer says it has addressed from what it has not.
| Reported problem | Status | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Anti-cheat kicking innocent players | Fixed | 1.0.1.4 states "Fixed Issues with Anti Cheat kicking players falsely" |
| Cannot join a game or a friend | Addressed | 1.0.1.4 lists "Fixed various join game issues and crashes" |
| No in-game voice | Fixed | Voice chat added in 1.0.10; silent-audio output bug fixed in 1.0.1.4 |
| Dying instantly on spawn | Adjusted | Spawns adjusted and spawn protection added in 1.0.10 |
| Loadout presets and player selection not saving | Fixed | Listed among the 1.0.10 bug fixes |
| Progression not showing after a match | Fixed | Listed among the 1.0.10 bug fixes — see the progression page |
| Cheating in general | Partly addressed | An anti-cheat and a report option were added, but the developer does not claim cheating is eliminated |
| Network architecture concerns | Not addressed | No official statement exists on how matches are hosted; see note below |
How to check your build
The version number appears in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. The developer's 1.0.1.4 note adds a practical step: if the patch does not appear, exit Steam completely — from the Steam menu, choose Exit Steam — and relaunch, which forces the client to pick the update up.
If you are running an older build, most of the problems described in the table above may simply be the version you are on rather than a fault with the game. Updating first avoids chasing a bug that has already been fixed. The troubleshooting guide picks up from there.
What is still open
Two things are not resolved, and it is worth being precise about the difference between "not fixed" and "not acknowledged".
- Cheating. The 1.0.10 notes say an anti-cheat was implemented "to hopefully prevent some of it", and point players to the report option in the pause menu. That is a mitigation, not a claim that cheating is gone.
- How matches are hosted. Players in the official Steam discussions describe the game as peer-to-peer and raise concerns about what that means for security. Other players in the same threads dispute that framing. There is no developer statement on the network model in either patch note, so the description stays attributed to players rather than stated as fact.
The developer also points players to a Discord server for bug reports, which is referenced in the 1.0.10 notes. No public support web page is listed on the store page; the contact address published there is an email address.
Sources and review scope
- Steam — Hood Warfare 2 announcements — used for every date, version number and quoted phrase in the timeline, including the private-match, anti-cheat-fix, audio, spawn and bug-fix entries.
- Steam store listing — used for the release date, the developer and publisher names, and the support contact.
- Steam community discussions — used only for the network-architecture note, which is attributed to players and not presented as official.
Everything in the timeline is quoted or paraphrased from the developer's own Steam announcements. The "fixed, partly fixed, unchanged" table pairs those announcements with the complaints being reported at the same time; where the developer has been silent, the row says so rather than assuming an outcome. No claim is made that every bug is resolved.
Checked on October 14, 2026 against the Steam store listing for Hood Warfare 2, the developer's own Steam announcements, and the Steam Web API. Live figures such as player counts, review totals and patch state change quickly and should be rechecked before you rely on them.
