Does WARDOGS Wipe Progress Between Seasons?
What BULKHEAD has said about resets, what the EULA actually permits, which parts of your account survive a season change, and the evidence behind each claim.
Applies to: Season resets and progression persistence in WARDOGS, checked against the developer's announcements, the wardogs.com EULA and the Steam store listing on October 19, 2026
Quick answer
BULKHEAD has never announced a wipe. The word does not appear in any of the 81 Steam announcements reviewed for this page, and no season has ended yet, so there is no precedent to point at. What does exist is the EULA on wardogs.com, which reserves the right to reset Early Access progress — that is a permission the developer has kept, not a plan it has announced. Cash and XP earned in a season are described as persistent in the store listing, and Season 2 did not reset them on launch. Treat "will my progress be wiped" as unanswered rather than answered either way: the game is in Early Access, and the developer has written down that it may happen.

At a glance
There are two separate questions hiding inside "will WARDOGS wipe my progress", and they have different answers. Has the developer announced a wipe? No. Has the developer reserved the right to wipe? Yes, in writing, in the terms you agreed to when you launched the game.
| Question | Status | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Has a wipe been announced? | No | "wipe" appears in none of the 81 announcements reviewed |
| Has one happened yet? | No | Season 2 launched without resetting progression |
| Does the developer reserve the right? | Yes | Terms paragraph 12 and the game-specific addendum, quoted below |
| Will one happen at full release? | Unanswered | The terms say content "may be subject to reset" and cannot be guaranteed |
Two facts sit behind the whole question. WARDOGS is still in Early Access, and its terms are explicit that Early Access progression is not guaranteed. If you are deciding whether to invest time in levelling, that written reservation is the thing to weigh — not the absence of an announcement.
What the developer has said
Searched across all 81 Steam announcements published for app 1867240, the word "wipe" does not appear once. Neither does "season 3", and neither does any statement about what happens to player progress when a season ends.
What the developer has written about seasons is about content, not persistence. The Season 02 Preview of October 9, 2026 opens with "Season 01 is coming to a close. And man, what a rollercoaster it has been." — and then describes what Season 2 adds. The patch notes that followed on October 14 describe new weapons, vehicles, buildables and a reworked XP curve, and nowhere say that anything was reset.
What the EULA permits
The terms published on wardogs.com are where the actual answer lives, and they are unusually direct for this kind of document. There are three relevant passages.
Read together, those three passages say: your progress is intended to survive to launch, that intention is not a guarantee, the developer may reset progression at any time without notice, and you do not own the progress in the first place. The second passage names exactly the things people worry about — progression, accounts, statistics, unlocks — so this is not a clause written about something adjacent to the question. It is a clause written about the question.
One detail in the addendum is worth noting because it is easy to miss: it applies during "any early access, beta, preview, playtest or other pre-release period". The separate playtest build distributed through Steam in September 2026 falls into that list, which is a reason not to treat playtest progress as permanent regardless of what happens to the retail build.
What persists between matches
Persistence within a season is a separate matter and is documented in the store listing. Cash carries over from match to match: "Cash persists from match to match, so spending big on better gear, equipment, or a vehicle at the right time has the potential to turn the tide of battle." Progression tracks award XP that unlocks purchasable items, and the Gold Market at WARDOG level 35 converts accumulated cash into cosmetics.
So there are three layers, and they fail differently:
| Layer | Survives a match? | Survives a season? |
|---|---|---|
| Your loadout | No — bought per life | Not applicable |
| Your cash balance | Yes | Yes so far — Season 2 did not reset it |
| Role and WARDOG track levels | Yes | Yes so far |
| Cosmetics from the Gold Market | Yes | Yes so far |
The "so far" column is doing real work. Season 2 is the only transition that has occurred, and it preserved everything listed. One season is not a pattern.
What Season 2 did and did not reset
The strongest evidence that Season 2 did not wipe progress is not a statement — it is the shape of the patch notes themselves.
Under "Total XP Required", the notes list every level with an old value and a new value: Level 10 35,000 → 25,000, Level 15 110,000 → 54,750, Level 20 250,000 → 111,500, Level 25 365,000 → 206,600, Level 30 500,000 → 318,200, Level 35 750,000 → 525,000, Level 40 975,000 → 712,500, Level 45 1,225,000 → 920,850, Level 50 1,500,000 → 1,150,000, each with a percentage in brackets, such as "(29% quicker)" at level 10 and "(55% quicker)" at level 20.
Those pairings only make sense if existing players keep their accumulated XP and are being moved onto a cheaper curve. A wipe would not need a conversion table; it would need a "start again" line. The same logic runs through "Moved into WARDOG Track" and "Moved into Assault Track" entries, which reassign unlocks between tracks rather than removing them.
There is one real precedent for the opposite direction. The Season 1 changelog of September 9, 2026 raised the same thresholds — Level 10 from 25,000 to 35,000, described at the time as "40.0% slower", and Level 15 from 54,750 to 110,000, "100.9% slower". Season 2 then lowered them again. That round trip tells you something about how volatile these numbers are, and it is a better warning about investing heavily in the current curve than any wipe rumour.
What players expect, and why that is not evidence
The Steam forum contains long threads arguing both sides, and one of the most-replied titles on the board is a complaint that a season being a month long is "cruel", alongside a counter-thread telling people to stop complaining about the wipe. That tells you the community is anxious about it. It does not tell you what will happen.
The practical conclusion for a player is not comforting but it is accurate: nothing will be reset until the developer says so, the developer has kept the right to reset without warning, and the only season transition that has happened preserved everything. Treat the cash and XP you accumulate as durable in practice and revocable in principle, because that is precisely what the terms say.

The absence of "wipe" and "season 3" was established by searching all 81 Steam announcements captured for this review, not by skimming. Where this page says the developer has not made a statement, that is the result of that search. No forum post, video or third-party article was used to fill the gap, and the terms quoted above are reproduced rather than summarised.
Checked on October 19, 2026 against the Steam store listing and the Steam Web API for app 1867240, the developer's own Steam announcements including the Season 2 patch notes dated October 14, 2026, the current-player and achievement endpoints, the public review endpoint, and the four policy pages published on wardogs.com. Figures are quoted from those sources rather than paraphrased, and each one carries the date it was read. Where a detail comes from a press report, a third-party site or a player post rather than from BULKHEAD or Team17, it is labelled as exactly that. Anything the developer has not stated is written as unconfirmed rather than guessed.
