Quick answer

Yes. The official FAQ says Dimraeth can be played solo from start to finish, while online co-op supports up to eight players. Choose based on how you want to experience the game; solo is a supported route, not a restricted trial mode.

Can Dimraeth be played solo or in co-op?

Both. Mudtek’s official FAQ says the game can be played solo from start to finish, while the Steam listing supports online co-op for up to eight players. Co-op is optional rather than a requirement for reaching the core progression.

What changes when playing solo?

Solo players do not lose access to the intended start-to-finish route. You control the pace, world state and Stronghold decisions without waiting for a regular group. Difficulty, balance and exact encounter tactics can change during Early Access, so the current in-game settings remain the best place to judge a comfortable solo setup.

Plan a long-term co-op world

For a regular group, choose a dependable host before investing heavily in story progress or construction. The official Steam description separates portable hero data from world-bound story progress, recruited allies and buildings. Bringing your hero to another player’s world does not mean that world’s quests or Stronghold will be copied into your own.

Prepare the group

  1. Agree who will host the main world.
  2. Confirm that every player is using the same current game version.
  3. Decide whether the session is for story progression, building or repeatable content.
  4. Use Mudtek’s Discord group finder if you do not already have a party.

Dimraeth currently uses peer-to-peer hosting rather than dedicated servers. See the hosting guide for the practical implications, or the progression guide for the hero-versus-world split.
