Wallpaper Engine Wallpapers Not Showing: Official Checks
Separate a wallpaper that downloaded but is not visible from an item that never finished downloading.

Quick answer
If a wallpaper is present but not visible, check whether antivirus blocked Wallpaper Engine or Windows High Contrast mode disabled wallpapers. A Windows slideshow can also replace or fade the wallpaper.
Check security software
If a wallpaper is subscribed or present locally but not visible, check whether antivirus or firewall software blocked Wallpaper Engine. Use the official help page's recommended allow-list paths.
Check Windows settings
Windows High Contrast mode can force wallpapers off. A Windows desktop slideshow can also replace or fade the Wallpaper Engine image at intervals. Check whether Windows is overriding the desktop background.
Download vs display problems
If the item is absent in Wallpaper Engine, troubleshoot Steam Workshop downloading. If it appears in the app but not on the desktop, use the official no-wallpaper checks above.
