AION 2 Classes: The Official Eight-Class Reveal and Brawler Status

Compare the eight classes in NC's official reveal and understand what the reviewed sources do—and do not—confirm about Brawler in the global service.

Quick answer

NC's official class reveal named eight classes: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Marksman, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter. A later NC update introduced Brawler before the October 2026 global launch, but the reviewed English sources do not explicitly confirm whether Brawler is selectable in the current global client. This draft therefore reports the dated announcements instead of claiming a final live roster.

The official eight-class reveal

NC's June 2025 class reveal named the eight classes below. Its April 2026 global announcement later said global players could choose from eight classes, but did not repeat the names. The role descriptions in the middle column are condensed from the reveal; the final column is editorial guidance, not a damage ranking.

Eight classes named in NC's June 2025 reveal
ClassRole shorthandConsider it if you want...
GladiatorFront-line melee damageHeavy weapons and sustained pressure near the fight
TemplarDefence and tankingTo hold enemy attention and protect a group
AssassinMobile melee burstFast positioning and punishing short openings
MarksmanLong-range scoutDistance and ranged physical attacks
ChanterVersatile multiplayer supportTo contribute while supporting a group
ClericDamage-capable healerRecovery tools without giving up all offensive play
SorcererRanged magic damageSpell damage and controlling space from range
SpiritmasterSolo-oriented magic classA class officially described as optimized for solo play

Choose by role before chasing a ranking

Start with the activity you expect to repeat. A player who wants to lead from the front has a different decision from one who wants to keep a dungeon group alive. Use this short route:

  1. Pick melee or ranged combat.
  2. Decide whether you want damage, defence, healing or mixed support responsibilities.
  3. Choose whether you enjoy reacting to allies and enemies or following a repeatable damage sequence.
  4. Test the class controls before investing in a patch-specific build.

Templar has the clearest tank description, while Chanter is explicitly presented as multiplayer support. Gladiator, Assassin, Marksman and Sorcerer approach damage from different ranges and rhythms. NC describes Spiritmaster as optimized for solo play and says Cleric has improved damage capability. These dated role descriptions are more defensible than an undated launch-week tier list.

What is confirmed about Brawler

NC's July 2026 Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow announcement says Brawler was added to AION 2. It describes a gauntlet-using front-line class whose attacks build Rage and trigger a Rampage state.

The remaining question is current global availability. The Brawler announcement predates the October 5 global launch, while the reviewed global announcement still refers to eight classes. Neither source explicitly says whether the October global client includes Brawler. Until a current global class list or an in-client check settles that point, this page does not label Brawler either confirmed or excluded from global.

What “best class” leaves out

A single best-class answer would need to specify the patch, activity, group size, gear level and what “best” means. A class that is valuable in a coordinated raid may not be the easiest first solo character. A PvP burst ranking does not answer which class is comfortable for questing or healing friends.

This page therefore helps with the stable choice—combat role—and does not convert an older announcement into a current global tier list. Build and ranking pages should be created only after their skills, Stigmas, equipment and patch scope have been checked against the global client.

What remains unconfirmed

  • Whether Brawler is selectable in the current global client.
  • The current live global class count; the reviewed English announcements do not resolve it.
  • A universal best class across solo PvE, dungeons, raids and PvP.
  • Patch-current build rankings for each class.

How this guide was checked

Checked on October 20, 2026 against NC's global AION 2 site, dated NC press releases and the Steam listing. An announcement for the earlier live service is not treated as proof of current global availability. Player reports are used only for observations that NC has not documented and are not presented as official mechanics.

Not independently play-tested. This is not a claim that every platform or game version was tested. Source review: Oct 20, 2026.
