Quick answer

Start with the Shade campaign if you want the story, use Arcade for individual events, or choose online multiplayer for PvP. The four classes are Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, Skim Speeder and Podracer; learn one class before assuming they handle alike.

Choose the mode that answers your first question

If you want...Start with...
Shade’s story and league progressionSingle-player campaign
A standalone event or time-focused challengeArcade

To race without a connection after PC first-launch authenticationCampaign, Arcade or Scenarios

The Arcade leaderboard is connected, even though Arcade events themselves can be played offline. Pick the mode before following a tip written for a different one.

Expect a run-based campaign

Steam calls the game “runs-based.” In its hands-on review, VGC describes earning a league entry token, meeting race objectives, and receiving rewards that improve the craft during a run. That is the reviewer’s account of the campaign loop; it is more useful as orientation than as a guarantee about every unlock or difficulty setting.

Learn a vehicle class before changing modes

The four official classes are Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, Skim Speeder and Podracer. The developer says each has distinct physics and playstyles. Start with the handling of the class the event gives you, then switch classes to compare. The Podracer is also the one class the developer explicitly says cannot be customized.

What still needs in-game verification?

There is no source-backed universal “best first upgrade,” exact button map or guaranteed fastest route in the material reviewed here. Use the active game’s objective and controls screens for those details. This guide is a starting framework, not a claimed first-hand race walkthrough.
