Castlevania: Belmont's Curse System Requirements and Steam Deck

The official minimum and recommended PC specs, what your own machine needs to clear, storage sizes, and where Steam Deck stands.

Quick answer

The official PC requirements are Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1650 at minimum, and an i5-10400 with an RTX 3060 as recommended. Both list DirectX 11 and 10 GB of storage. The 16 GB memory floor in particular is higher than a lot of 2D games ask for, so check that line first. Steam Deck has no official compatibility rating from Valve at the time of this check, and early players report it running poorly, so treat Deck as unproven rather than supported.

At a glance

The PC requirements are modest on the graphics card and high on memory. Both the minimum and recommended tiers ask for 16 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage, and both require Windows 11.

The official specs

These are copied from the store listing rather than paraphrased, because CPU and GPU model numbers are easy to garble. Two things stand out. First, the jump between tiers is small on CPU (i5-8400 to i5-10400) and larger on GPU (GTX 1650 to RTX 3060), which suggests the recommended tier is aimed at higher resolutions rather than more effects. Second, the 16 GB memory floor applies to both tiers, which is unusually high for a 2D game and is the line most likely to fail on an older or budget machine.

Checking your own PC

  1. Check your RAM first — 16 GB is the requirement that trips the most people, and it is the same at both tiers.
  2. Check your GPU against GTX 1650 (minimum) and RTX 3060 (recommended).
  3. Confirm Windows 11 — the listing names Windows 11, not Windows 10.
  4. Free up 10 GB of space on the drive you install to.
  5. Try the demo if you are near the line — it is free and runs the opening chapter, so it answers the question better than a spec comparison does.

Storage

The PC listing asks for 10 GB. On console the figures differ by edition and platform: 8 GB for the Standard Edition and 10 GB for the Midnight Edition on PS5 and Xbox, dropping to 4 GB and 6 GB on Nintendo Switch. If you are on PC, 10 GB is the number to budget regardless of edition.

Steam Deck

Valve had not given the game a Steam Deck compatibility rating at the time of this check, and launch-window players reported stutter and low frame rates on the handheld. There is no official Deck status to quote, so this page does not claim one. If Deck is your main way to play, the demo is the cheapest test.

What the specs do not tell you

  • How it performs at your resolution. The tiers do not state a target resolution or frame rate, so "recommended" does not guarantee 60 fps at 4K.
  • Whether the PC launch problems affect you. There is a confirmed launch issue tied to V-Sync and frame-limit settings, which is a settings matter rather than a hardware one.
  • Anything about the Switch 2. That is a separate compatibility question, not a PC spec.

Sources and review scope

The requirement figures are the publisher's own listing rather than a converted or rounded copy. The Steam Deck note and the "what the specs do not tell you" points are this site's reading, not publisher statements. No performance testing has been done here, so no frame-rate or resolution result is claimed. Checked on October 16, 2026.

How this guide was checked

Checked on October 16, 2026 against KONAMI's official game site (product, character, demo and known-issues pages), the Steam store listing and the public Steam Web API endpoints for this app, and the PlayStation Store and Nintendo listings. KONAMI's own statements and store data are kept separate from third-party guides, which are labelled where they are used. Live figures such as review totals and aggregate scores are timestamped snapshots that keep moving. Anything no source states is written as unconfirmed rather than guessed.

Not independently play-tested. This is not a claim that every platform or game version was tested. Source review: Oct 16, 2026.
