AION 2 Essence Extraction Guide: Novice 50 and Splendent Ruby

Novice 50 upgrade steps

1. Raise Essence Extraction to Novice level 50.
2. Accept [Upgrade] Essence Extraction Specialty Skill.
3. Speak with the faction's Essence Extraction artisan if the quest directs you there.
4. Gather Ruby nodes until the quest awards a Splendent Ruby (Bound).
5. Return the item to the quest NPC to unlock Professional progression.

The Splendent Ruby in this task is a special result from a Ruby node. It is not the same instruction as gathering a fixed stack of ordinary Rubies.

Find Ruby nodes

Use the in-game source lookup first: open a recipe that uses Ruby, select the Ruby icon, then use its Source/map control. If available, invest in or enable the gem-seeking skill so mineral nodes appear more clearly on the minimap. Community maps are useful leads, but a pin does not guarantee an uncollected live node.

Faction NPCs and reported areas

Names and areas are consistent across several current Global guides and player reports, but are not taken from a complete NC English guide.

If the quest does not progress

• Confirm Essence Extraction—not character level—is Novice 50.
• Confirm the upgrade quest is active before gathering.
• Gather from a node whose item name is Ruby.
• Check for the bound Splendent Ruby in inventory and quest tracking.
• Change channel or revisit the area if nodes have been gathered.
