Quick answer

Visions are echoes of FINAL FANTASY characters that grant skills. The official PlayStation explainer says completing events with characters met in the story can earn Visions; equipping one and winning battles unlocks its abilities. Once learned, abilities can be used with another active Vision if the cost limit allows.

What Visions do

Square Enix describes Visions as echoes of FINAL FANTASY characters that bring skills into battle. The PlayStation explainer says players obtain Visions by completing events with characters encountered in the story. A Vision can then be equipped and developed by winning battles.

Unlocking Vision abilities

According to the official explanation, battle wins while a Vision is equipped unlock its abilities. The available announcement does not give a numeric battle count, experience formula, or exact requirement for each skill. Check the in-game Vision screen for current progress rather than relying on an assumed number.

Combining abilities

The official feature overview says an ability learned from a Vision can still be used while another Vision is active, provided the ability fits within the cost limit. That allows skills learned from different Visions to be combined. Certain combinations can create synergies, but official pre-release materials do not publish a complete synergy list or ranking.

Resonance attacks

After a successful stagger sequence, the party can unleash a Vision-specific Resonance attack at the end of the Extra Phase. The PlayStation description says these forms can deal damage, affect an area, or provide other effects. Exact effects depend on the relevant Vision and need in-game confirmation.

Build advice and limits

Without release-version testing, there is no verified “best Vision” or optimal setup to recommend. Start by matching the enemy’s displayed weaknesses, then compare ability costs and effects shown in-game. This is a general way to read the published system, not a tested build prescription.
