Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Boss List: What KONAMI Has Confirmed
The bosses KONAMI has named, the third-party order that has circulated before launch, why the totals disagree, and what stays unconfirmed.

Quick answer
KONAMI has named seven boss characters — The Fallen, Joan of Arc, Medusa, Isaac, Carmilla, Death and Dracula — and that is the confirmed set. KONAMI has not published a boss total or a boss order. Third-party guides list anywhere from 16 to 18 encounters because Death, Isaac and Dracula each appear more than once, so the same game is being counted differently. Read any order you find as a third-party route, not as an official list, and expect it to be corrected now that the game is out.

At a glance
KONAMI has named seven boss characters. It has not published a boss total or a boss order. Third-party guides list 16 to 18 encounters, and the difference is not an error — it is three bosses appearing twice.
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Named by KONAMI | 7 boss characters |
| Official total | Not published |
| Official order | Not published |
| Third-party totals | 16 to 18 encounters |
The bosses KONAMI names
These seven are on KONAMI's own character page, with official descriptions and voice actors — which makes them the confirmed set, not a fan list:
| Boss | Voice actor |
|---|---|
| The Fallen | Ray Chase |
| Joan of Arc | Erica Lindbeck |
| Medusa | Melique Berger |
| Isaac | Liam O'Brien |
| Carmilla | Dawn M. Bennett |
| Death | Aaron LaPlante |
| Dracula | Graham McTavish |
The Fallen is worth one clarification from KONAMI's own wording: it is the mysterious "monster" that terrorises Paris and the first threat Rose meets, in the sewers. So "the monster" and "The Fallen" are the same boss, not two different fights.
The reported order
Third-party guides published an order before launch and it has been widely copied. Its shape — starting in the Paris sewers and ending in Dracula's throne room, with each kill handing over an Arcana card — matches how the game is structured. But its names beyond the seven above, and the exact positions, come from one pre-release checklist rather than from KONAMI. Treat the sequence as a third-party route to sanity-check against your own map, not as a publisher list.
Why the totals disagree
- Repeat encounters. Death, Isaac and Dracula each appear more than once. Count them as separate fights and the total rises; count them as one character and it falls.
- Optional fights. Some encounters are optional, so whether they "count" depends on the list's rule.
- Pre-launch sourcing. The early lists were compiled before the game was playable, so they inherited a work-in-progress caveat from their own authors.
This is exactly why a single confident number is misleading. The honest position is: seven named bosses are certain, and the total depends on how you count repeats.
Why the order matters
In this game a defeated boss is sealed into Rose's tarot cards as an Arcana, and each Arcana grants a spell and a special action. That makes boss order a progression question rather than just a route: an early kill can hand you the ability that opens a later area, and which boss you take first shapes what you have to work with. It is also why several bosses are gated behind the game's structure rather than freely attackable in any order.
What is not confirmed
- A boss total. Not published by KONAMI.
- A boss order. Not published by KONAMI.
- Which encounters are optional. Only reported.

The seven boss names and their voice actors are KONAMI's. Any order or total is third-party and labelled as such. This page deliberately does not republish a full numbered order as fact, because no publisher list exists to check it against. Checked on October 16, 2026.
Checked on October 16, 2026 against KONAMI's official game site (product, character, demo and known-issues pages), the Steam store listing and the public Steam Web API endpoints for this app, and the PlayStation Store and Nintendo listings. KONAMI's own statements and store data are kept separate from third-party guides, which are labelled where they are used. Live figures such as review totals and aggregate scores are timestamped snapshots that keep moving. Anything no source states is written as unconfirmed rather than guessed.
