What is Dimraeth? gameplay, co-op and Stronghold overview
A current, source-backed overview of Dimraeth’s action RPG loop, world progression, co-op and Stronghold systems.
Applies to: Current Steam store description and official site
Quick answer
Dimraeth is a 1–8 player fantasy action RPG. The official description centers on exploring a pixel-art world, building a character through race, class and spells, and developing a Stronghold with crafting and allies. It can also be played solo.

The core game loop
Dimraeth is a fantasy action RPG for one to eight players. Its official description connects exploration, real-time combat, character development, crafting and Stronghold building into one loop rather than presenting them as unrelated modes.
| Stage | What you do | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Explore | Travel through the current regions, quests and dungeons. | Story progress, encounters and materials. |
| Fight | Read enemy telegraphs and use strikes, dodges, blocks, parries and spells. | Character progression and loot. |
| Develop | Combine an Archetype tree, attributes, equipment and a five-spell loadout. | A playstyle that can change as gear and skills change. |
| Return home | Craft equipment, brew potions, cook meals and improve facilities. | Preparation and continued Stronghold growth. |
| Continue | Advance alone or in an online group of up to eight. | Story, repeatable content and a shared host world. |
Hero and build choices
Your race and class form an Archetype with its own skill tree and playstyle. The current Early Access roster is Human, Elf and Minotaur paired with Brawler, Mage and Shadow. Race abilities, class synergies, attributes, equipment sets and crafted spellbooks all contribute to the finished build.
Steam says five spells can be equipped at once. Some magic comes from race and class choices, while crafted spellbooks can grant universal spells when attribute requirements are met. Exact values and optimal combinations can change, so use the skill-tree and combat pages as system guides rather than permanent tier lists.
World and Stronghold
The current opening journey runs from The Lost Caverns through Earlwood Village and into Wildwood Forest. Returning home connects that exploration to crafting, farms, quarries, recruited allies and facility investment. Improving facilities can expand shop inventories, crafting services and farming plots.
Your hero’s level, gear, inventory, spells and personal progression travel between worlds. Story progress, recruited allies and buildings remain tied to the world. That distinction matters most in co-op: choose a dependable main host if the group wants one continuous story and Stronghold.
For the current content boundary, see the Early Access guide. It separates the live three-race, three-class scope from the wider goals described for the complete game.
