Valor Mortis Roadmap: New Game Plus, DLC and French Voice

What One More Level has confirmed for Valor Mortis after launch — New Game+, a story DLC and French voice-over — and what is only being considered.

Quick answer

The developer has confirmed three things since launch. A New Game+ mode is coming "later this year", carrying your progression and loot into a second, harder run with stronger enemies and new surprises. A Major Story DLC is planned for next year, described as "a complete side story, separate from the main campaign", and the first cosmetic weapon skin pack can be unlocked now. A fully voiced French version is wanted but "wasn't something we could complete before launch". Past those, the studio says it is "thinking about other added modes" without committing to any — that is a wish list, not a roadmap, and this page keeps the two apart.

What is confirmed

Post-launch plans for Valor Mortis divide cleanly into two groups, and keeping them apart is the whole purpose of this page. On one side are things the developer has stated as commitments. On the other are things it has said it is thinking about.

Read the New Game+ and free-update rows together. The developer states that it has "multiple free updates planned that will add more ways to enjoy Valor Mortis in the weeks and months ahead". That is a commitment to a schedule of free content, not to any particular item in it — only New Game+ is named.

New Game+

The commitment is specific enough to be useful, and it is the item most likely to matter to anyone who finishes the campaign in the coming weeks. Quoted from the developer's launch announcement:

"Later this year, we'll add a New Game+ mode where you'll take your progression and loot after completing the campaign once, but for a second, more challenging attempt. This time with stronger enemies, more difficulty and new surprises."

Three things are stated and one is not. Stated: progression and loot carry over, the second run is harder, and enemies are stronger. Not stated: whether achievements, difficulty options or anything else change in a New Game+ run. There is also no date beyond "later this year", and no patch has shipped of any kind as of October 14, 2026.

"Later this year" is the developer's own phrasing. It is not a release date, and this page does not convert it into one.

The Major Story DLC

Two official sources describe the story DLC, and they agree. The developer's announcement explains what it is:

"The Major Story DLC will tell a complete side story, separate from the main campaign, but still exploring the world and characters of Valor Mortis in even more depth."

And the Deluxe Edition Upgrade listing on Steam dates it:

Deluxe Upgrade contents and stated availability
ContentAvailability stated by the store
La Grande Armée Weapon Skin PackAvailable now
Major Story DLCAvailable 2027
Weapon Skin Pack 1Available fall 2026
Weapon Skin Pack 2Available summer 2027
Weapon Skin Pack 3Available fall 2027

"Separate from the main campaign" is the sentence to hold on to. It means the DLC is not the unfinished half of what you bought, and it means someone who only wants the campaign can skip it without feeling short-changed. The price and editions page covers what the upgrade costs and how the timing works out.

French voice-over

A game set in Napoleonic France shipping without French voice acting attracted attention immediately, and the developer addressed it directly rather than ignoring it. The full statement is short enough to quote:

"I know that a fully voiced French version would be awesome. Personally, I would have loved to have one, too! It wasn't something we could complete before launch but we definitely want to add it later on."

This is the clearest example on this page of a statement that is honest about being incomplete. It confirms the omission was a schedule problem rather than a design choice, expresses intent to add it, and commits to nothing. Note also that the store listing already lists French among its supported interface and subtitle languages — it is a fully voiced French version that is missing, not French text.

Considered, not promised

One line in the launch announcement is easy to misread as a roadmap item, and it is not one:

"We're also thinking about other added modes but please tell us what you would want in Valor Mortis!"

"Thinking about" is the boundary. There is no named mode, no count and no date, so anything built on top of this sentence is speculation. Treating it as an announcement is exactly how a wish list becomes a "confirmed feature" in the guides that copy each other. The difficulty settings page covers one of the requests players have been making in that space, and it stays on the same side of the line.

Patch state

Worth stating here because it is the frame around every item above: no patch has been released for Valor Mortis as of October 14, 2026. The Steam announcements feed carries no patch note, and no patch thread appears in the discussions. The developer's Known Issues post of October 13 is the only technical communication so far.

That means the roadmap above describes future work added on top of a launch build that has not yet been updated at all. The first patch, whenever it lands, will be the more informative event — see the Known Issues and fix status page for what is currently open.

Sources and review scope

Every item on this page comes from a developer statement or an official store listing. Nothing is inferred from press coverage, and items the developer described as under consideration are labelled as such rather than promoted to announcements. Dates described as "later this year" or "2027" are the developer's own phrasing and are not converted into calendar dates here.

How this guide was checked

Checked on October 14, 2026 against the Steam store listing for Valor Mortis, the developer's own Steam announcements and Steam Discussions posts, the official Valor Mortis site, and the Steam Web API. Live details such as player counts, review totals and patch state change quickly and should be rechecked before you rely on them. Anything the developer has not confirmed is written as unconfirmed rather than guessed.
