Dimraeth beginner guide: how to start Early Access
A source-backed starting plan for character creation, Act I scope, co-op and the systems worth checking first.
Applies to: Current Early Access launch information
Quick answer
Begin by choosing from the current three-race, three-class roster, then use the live game to learn its controls and systems. Mudtek’s FAQ describes Act I as roughly 12–15 hours of story content, with repeatable end-game content afterward.

Start with the live roster
Current Early Access officially lists three races—Human, Elf and Minotaur—and three classes—Brawler, Mage and Shadow. Begin with the character-creation screen in your installed build, because it is the authority for current choices and descriptions.
Your race and class form an Archetype, but the game also uses attributes, a skill tree, equipment sets and crafted spellbooks. Choose a theme you want to learn rather than searching for a permanent “best” option in an Early Access balance environment.
Know the Early Access scope
Mudtek’s developer FAQ describes about 12–15 hours of Act I story content, with repeatable content after that. The level cap is listed as 25 for Act I and is described as increasing with later acts.
| Step | What to check |
|---|---|
| 1. Character | Select from the current three races and three classes using the live descriptions. |
| 2. Controls | Review the current key or controller bindings instead of using a demo layout. |
| 3. World | Follow the starter route from The Lost Caverns toward Earlwood and Wildwood. |
| 4. Home | Learn crafting, storage and Stronghold systems as they become available. |
| 5. Updates | Check official patch notes if a guide or tooltip appears inconsistent. |
Choose solo or co-op
Solo play is officially supported, while online co-op supports up to eight players. Decide whether to develop a long-term host world with a group before you invest heavily in story and Stronghold progress.
Your hero’s level, equipment, inventory, spells and personal progress travel between worlds. Story progress, recruited allies and buildings remain tied to the world. For a regular group, choose a dependable host world early and remember that joining with the same hero does not copy the host’s world state elsewhere.
Dimraeth uses peer-to-peer hosting and currently has no dedicated or private servers. It also does not offer local split-screen, so every co-op participant needs the appropriate online setup.
