Octarina sushi locations: regional checklist and the 31-piece claim
Track the Octarina sushi pickups described across five story regions, see which spots are easy to miss, and understand why the community claim of 31 is not fully itemized.
Applies to: Steam PC story level for app 1503280; locations reconstructed from a 2021 player guide
Quick answer
Steam says Octocollector unlocks for collecting all sushi, but it does not publish a total. A 2021 player guide claims 31 pieces; its five regional sections currently let us identify only 28 pickups: 3 in the office, 14 in the factory room, 4 on the stairway, 4 around the alarm section and 3 in the restaurant. Use the checklist below for those 28, but do not treat it as a verified complete 31-piece route.

What can be checked: Steam confirms that Octocollector asks for every sushi, but it gives no number. The only detailed public route found claims 31 pieces while its five sections describe 28 countable pickups. This page turns those 28 descriptions into a regional checklist and leaves the other three unresolved instead of inventing locations.
Why the “31 sushi” total is not confirmed
The Steam achievement page supplies the objective but no total. The community location guide says there are 31, yet its visible descriptions account for 3 + 14 + 4 + 4 + 3. Its screenshots were used only to check how many location entries accompany each section; they are not reproduced here.
Office: 3 described pickups
- Starting-tank desk
Look under the desk beside the tank where the story begins.
- Middle wall
Climb onto the top of the central dividing wall.
- Right-side desk
Check underneath the desk on the right side of the office.
Factory room: 14 described pickups
The factory source uses 12 location entries, but two entries explicitly contain two pieces each. That produces 14 described pickups.
- Two after the conveyor drop
After dropping from the conveyor belt, search the bottom floor for two pieces. Running count: 2.
- Blue room, bottom floor
Search the lower level of the blue room. Running count: 3.
- Blue room, top floor
Climb to the upper level of the same blue structure. Running count: 4.
- Along the conveyor
Follow the belt rather than leaving it at the first opening. Running count: 5.
- Breakable wall at the conveyor start
Return to the beginning of the belt and break the wall there. Running count: 6.
- Two on the ramp by the blue building
Reach the roof of the blue building, then jump to the adjacent ramp for two pieces. Running count: 8.
- Lights above the broken-wall route
From the hole you opened, follow the light fixtures upward. Running count: 9.
- Conveyor below the last light
Drop from the last light and follow the belt. Running count: 10.
- Ladder reached from a light fixture
Use a fixture to reach the bridge or right-hand room entrance, then climb the ladder. Running count: 11.
- Across the bridges above the ladder
Continue over the bridges after climbing. Running count: 12.
- Correct door from the bridge
Backtrack to the bridge, enter the intended doorway and look upward. Running count: 13.
- Moving conveyor jump
After activating the conveyor, be ready to jump while riding it. Running count: 14.
For the machinery and door sequence that connect these spaces, use the story route and final escape guide.
Stairway: 4 described pickups
- Trash-chute landing
After falling through the chute, look on top of the garbage.
- High sticky-wall pickup
Climb the sticky wall and double-jump, or approach backward from the completed stairs.
- Corner above the next sticky walls
At the next sticky-wall group, look up into the corner.
- Left at the top of the stairs
At the top of the stair section, turn left before moving on.
Alarm area: 4 described pickups
- Vent side one
After using the axe to disable the security system, look up toward one side of the vent route.
- Vent side two
Check the matching upper space on the opposite side.
- Maze, lower floor
Enter through the wall opening and search the bottom level of the maze.
- Maze, upper floor
Climb through the same maze and search its top level.
The source warns that the vent pair is easy to bypass depending on how the room was entered. Check both sides before leaving the alarm area.
Restaurant: 3 described pickups
- Entrance-left shelf
Turn left after entering and look on top of the shelf.
- Opposite washroom, first piece
Search the washroom opposite the side used during the flooding objective.
- Opposite washroom, second piece
The same player entry explicitly says there are two in that washroom, so keep searching after the first.
What to do about the missing three
Do not use the 28-item checklist as proof that Octocollector must unlock. If your counter or achievement has not completed, revisit the factory and alarm routes first: those contain the densest vertical spaces and the guide's multi-piece entries. The source does not identify which three descriptions are absent, so this page cannot safely name a room for them.
- Keep the five regional subtotals separate when checking what you collected.
- Do not assume the achievement is broken solely because 28 described pickups were collected.
- If you can reproduce all 31 on the current Steam build, record each room and landmark—not only the final counter—so the three-location gap can be corrected.
The achievement status guide explains what Steam does and does not publish about Octocollector and the other 15 achievements.
Sources and review scope
- Steam — Octarina global achievements (official public wording: collect all sushi; no published total).
- Steam Community — Sushi Factory, Sushi Locations, posted July 2, 2021 (the 31-piece claim and all five regional player descriptions).
- Steam Community — Octarina 100% (a second page by the same author repeating the 31 claim; not an independent confirmation).
Reviewed October 21, 2026. The game was not independently played. The detailed source currently displays a Steam removal/incompatibility warning, and both location guides are by the same author; screenshots have no location captions beyond the accompanying prose. Those limitations are why 31 remains a community claim and the checklist stops at the 28 pickups that can be counted from text.
Steam confirms that Octocollector requires every sushi. A community guide claims 31, but its visible text and screenshots describe only 28 countable pickups, so the discrepancy is retained instead of guessed away.
Not independently play-tested. This is not a claim that every platform or game version was tested. Source review: Oct 21, 2026.
