FiveM Graphics Mods (Reshade/NVE): What Works & the Enhanced Limit
The official boundary on FiveM graphic mods: Enhanced blocks them during early access, Legacy allows them. What Reshade/NVE are, and how to get them safely.
Applies to: FiveM graphic mods · Cfx.re Pure mode policy · third-party tools (Reshade/NVE/QuantV/VisualV)
Quick answer
On GTA V Enhanced, FiveM forces Pure mode and — during early access — blocks graphic mods such as Reshade, NVE, QuantV or VisualV. Legacy (Gen8) still supports them. These tools are third-party, not Cfx.re or Rockstar products; this guide explains what they are and points to their official sources but does not host or link download files, and notes the safety risks.

Evidence key: Official means Cfx.re's developers documentation (Legacy vs Enhanced); community means player reports about third-party tools. Every source below was reviewed October 20, 2026.
The official limit: Enhanced blocks graphic mods
Official: on GTA V Enhanced, FiveM forces Pure mode and — while FiveM for GTAV Enhanced is in early access — graphic mods such as Reshade, NVE (NaturalVision Evolved), QuantV or VisualV cannot be used. Cfx.re states this verbatim: "While FiveM for GTAV Enhanced is in early access, graphic mods cannot be used." Because Pure mode restricts which files the client may modify, Enhanced loads only unmodified game files, so injected post-processing and texture replays simply do not apply. On Legacy (Gen8), graphic mod support remains. Cfx.re Legacy vs Enhanced · Checked October 20, 2026.
"Early access" here refers to FiveM for GTAV Enhanced, not to GTA V Enhanced itself. Rockstar's base Enhanced edition is a full release; the limitation is FiveM's client support phase. Cfx.re has not published an end date, so this page does not promise when Enhanced will lift the restriction.
What the common tools are
- Reshade — a general-purpose post-processing injector (color grading, depth-based effects, shader presets) that works across many games, not FiveM-specific. You point it at an executable and it overlays effects.
- NVE (NaturalVision Evolved) — a community visual overhaul pack for GTA V that replaces textures, lighting and weather to a cinematic look.
- QuantV / VisualV — community graphic/visual mod packs for GTA V, similar in spirit to NVE but separate projects with their own presets.
All of the above are third-party, not Cfx.re or Rockstar products. This guide explains what they are and where to look; it does not host, repackage, or link to download files, and it does not vouch for any specific version or preset.
How graphic mods are installed (Legacy only)
The general pattern for Legacy is:
- Exit FiveM completely (check Task Manager for leftovers).
- Follow the tool's own official instructions to inject or install into your GTA V game folder — each tool differs, and Reshade versus an NVE-style pack use different installers.
- Launch FiveM again. On Legacy the modified files load; on Enhanced they are ignored by Pure mode.
Because Pure mode blocks file changes on Enhanced, the same steps will not take effect there today. Always read the tool's current official guide — steps and folder layouts change between versions, and a preset built for one GTA V build may not match another. Where to get them
Go to each tool's own official website or community (for example the tool's GitHub or documented download page) and follow its instructions. This site deliberately does not mirror those files: redistributing third-party mod binaries is outside our scope and can expose you to outdated or tampered builds. If a FiveM server requires a specific visual pack, that server's own documentation is the place to get the exact, compatible version. Official mod policy (Pure mode) · Checked October 20, 2026.
Risks to know
- Enhanced incompatibility: graphic mods simply will not load on Enhanced during early access — don't waste time debugging an injection that Pure mode is designed to block.
- Server-side conflicts: some servers disable or conflict with client-side visual mods; what looks fine offline may misbehave or get you removed on a specific server.
- Safety: only use well-known tools from their official sources. Random "FiveM graphics pack" downloads can bundle unwanted or unsafe files, and no graphics pack is endorsed by Cfx.re.
