Planet Zoo 2 Franchise accreditation levels and animal unlocks
See the five launch accreditation tiers, their zoo and reserve star requirements, and the limits of the available unlock data.
Applies to: Franchise mode launch build · recheck after patches
Quick answer
The launch progression has five reported tiers. Reaching Tier 5 requires two zoos with three Reputation Stars and three Wildlife Reserves with three Biodiversity Stars; the live Accreditation screen takes priority after updates.

Find accreditation
Accreditation is the Franchise progression gate tied to animal access. Launch players point to the planet view for current objectives and progress. Use that live screen because the reviewed official public pages do not publish a complete tier-by-tier table.
Progress the tier
A launch-day guide based on the in-game Accreditation screen reports five tiers. Tier 2 needs one zoo at three Reputation Stars; tiers 3–5 need two three-star zoos plus one, two or three Wildlife Reserves at three Biodiversity Stars. Because Frontier's public feature page does not publish this full table, verify the live objectives after any update.
What still needs checking
This draft deliberately omits a copied unlock chart: tiers, objective values and animal gates need direct in-game or Frontier documentation. When those are available, update the page with the build number and exact menu labels.
Launch accreditation requirements
| Tier | Reported unlock requirement | Species reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Starting tier | 32 species |
| 2 | 1 zoo with 3 Reputation Stars | 33 species |
| 3 | 2 three-star zoos + 1 reserve with 3 Biodiversity Stars | 31 species |
| 4 | 2 three-star zoos + 2 three-star reserves | 30 species |
| 5 | 2 three-star zoos + 3 three-star reserves | 10 species |
The counts above describe the launch-day guide's unlock rewards. The in-game screen remains authoritative if a patch changes progression.
Progression loop
- Open the Franchise planet view and read the active accreditation objectives.
- Raise zoo Reputation Stars or reserve Biodiversity Stars as named by the current tier.
- Create the additional zoo or reserve required by later tiers; one zoo alone cannot reach Tier 5 under the launch rules.
- Return to the animal market and recheck previously restricted species after the tier unlocks.
Locked is different from empty
| What you see | Most relevant check |
|---|---|
| Species or tier explicitly locked | Accreditation progress |
| Unlocked filter returns no listings | Player supply and server status |
| Connection error | Online-service status |
| One listing unaffordable | Currency and listing price |
What still needs direct verification
The reviewed guide reports the number of species unlocked at each tier but does not provide a species-by-species gate list. This page therefore does not guess which tier unlocks a particular animal. That list should be added only from the current in-game interface or an official Frontier table.
