Does Enshrouded Support Mods or Creative Mode?
Understand the difference between unofficial mods, world settings, Adventure Sharing, and the official Sparkworks creation tools in 1.0.
Applies to: Enshrouded 1.0 official features · third-party mods treated separately
Quick answer
The official Enshrouded sources reviewed for 1.0 do not document a supported mod SDK or Steam Workshop integration, so third-party mods should be treated as unofficial and update-sensitive. Keen’s supported creation path is different: Adventure Sharing lets players upload, browse, visit, and download community worlds, while Sparkworks adds in-game logic such as switches, pressure plates, doors, and traps. Those features enable custom adventures but are not evidence of unrestricted code modding or a separately named Creative Mode.

Official support status
The official 1.0 website, Steam store, support center, release material, and creation-feature announcements reviewed for this page do not document a supported mod SDK or Steam Workshop integration. That makes community mod loaders and modified files unofficial: they may work, but Keen has not provided the same support contract as an in-game feature.
The reviewed sources also do not name a separate unrestricted Creative Mode. Enshrouded instead provides configurable world settings and specific creation systems. Do not rename those systems as a full creative mode with unlimited resources, invulnerability, or every item unlocked unless the current game explicitly offers those rules.
Choose the feature that matches the goal
| Goal | Supported route | Not the same as |
|---|---|---|
| Change difficulty and survival rules | Documented world or server gameplay settings | Installing code or asset mods. |
| Share a constructed world | Adventure Sharing | Synchronizing a normal character save across platforms. |
| Create switches, doors, puzzles, or traps | Sparkworks logic in 1.0 | A general-purpose scripting SDK. |
| Alter game files, assets, or executable behavior | No official tool was confirmed in the sources reviewed | An officially supported creation workflow. |
Adventure Sharing handles worlds
Keen describes Adventure Sharing as an in-game route to upload locally created worlds, add names, tags, descriptions, and preview screenshots, then browse, subscribe to, visit, or download community creations. Its terms describe these environments, builds, terrain, objects, decorations, text, and screenshots as user content.
Visiting mode deliberately does not save experience, collected items, or achievements to the visitor’s profile. Read the current terms before uploading: you must have the rights to included content, and platform parental controls can restrict access to user-generated content.
Sparkworks adds in-game logic
Sparkworks is Keen’s official 1.0 logic system. Inputs such as levers and pressure plates can trigger outputs such as doors and traps. It can make shared constructions interactive, but the announcement does not describe arbitrary code execution, external plugins, or a public mod API.
If you use unofficial mods
- Back up client saves and any dedicated-server world before installation.
- Record the game revision, mod version, loader version, source URL, and every changed path.
- Install one change at a time and test startup, world load, save, exit, and reload.
- Assume a game update can break the mod. Remove it with the author’s documented process before filing a vanilla-game bug.
- Do not run unknown executables, disable security controls, or trust a download merely because a community post links it.
What would change this answer
Update this page if Keen publishes a mod SDK, Steam Workshop integration, official loader or file format, or a mode explicitly called Creative Mode with documented rules. More community downloads, a third-party manager, or a broader Adventure Sharing catalog do not by themselves establish official mod support.
