Valor Mortis Price and Editions: Is the Deluxe Upgrade Worth It?
Valor Mortis costs $39.99 on Steam. What the $20.00 Deluxe Edition Upgrade adds, what the bundles are, and what the story DLC will be.
Applies to: Price, editions and bundles for Valor Mortis as of October 14, 2026
Quick answer
Valor Mortis is listed at $39.99 on Steam, with no discount applied at the time of this check. A separate Deluxe Edition Upgrade is listed at $20.00, and the store names its five contents with dates: the La Grande Armée Weapon Skin Pack, available now; a Major Story DLC in 2027; and three further weapon skin packs in fall 2026, summer 2027 and fall 2027. The developer describes that Major Story DLC as "a complete side story, separate from the main campaign". The developer also notes bundles with other games that give 10% off when you buy both together. Whether the upgrade is worth it turns on whether you want a second, separate story, because it is not extra content inside the campaign you are buying first.

Price
Valor Mortis is listed at $39.99 on Steam. At the time of this check the store showed no discount — the price shown was the full price, not a launch reduction. A day after release that is worth stating plainly, because a lot of guides describe a "launch discount" that this store page does not currently show.
| Item | Price | Steam app ID |
|---|---|---|
| Valor Mortis | $39.99 | 2828710 |
| Valor Mortis Deluxe Edition Upgrade | $20.00 | 5250300 |
The upgrade is a separate purchase rather than a second edition of the game, which matters for how you buy it: you buy Valor Mortis first, then the upgrade, and the upgrade's store data lists Valor Mortis as its base game. Bought together the two come to $59.99, which is the figure press coverage refers to when it names a Deluxe Edition price.
The Deluxe Edition Upgrade
The store lists the upgrade's contents explicitly, with a date attached to each. This is the developer's own itemisation and is reproduced here rather than summarised.
| Content | Availability stated by the store |
|---|---|
| La Grande Armée Weapon Skin Pack | Available now |
| Major Story DLC | Available 2027 |
| Weapon Skin Pack 1 | Available fall 2026 |
| Weapon Skin Pack 2 | Available summer 2027 |
| Weapon Skin Pack 3 | Available fall 2027 |
Read the dates carefully, because they answer the obvious objection. Buying the upgrade today gets you one thing immediately — the La Grande Armée Weapon Skin Pack — and four things later. The remaining four are dated out to fall 2027, so the upgrade is a purchase that pays out over more than a year, not a bundle you receive in full.
Bundles and discounts
In its launch announcement the developer states that it has "bundles with outstanding games so you'll get a 10% discount when buying both together", and adds that if you already own any of the bundled games you can "complete the bundle with the same 10% discount". That is the only discount mechanism it describes, and it is conditional on buying a second game.
The same announcement names the bundle partners, which matters because the list looks arbitrary until you know it is official:
- Dishonored
- No Rest for the Wicked
- Mouse: P.I. for Hire
- Ghostrunner and Ghostrunner 2 — the studio's own earlier titles
So if you see Valor Mortis listed beside a game from that set, it is a bundle rather than a recommendation. Anything outside that list is a comparison someone else made, not a discount the developer is offering.
What the story DLC is
The single most useful sentence about the upgrade comes from the developer's launch announcement, and it answers the question a $20 add-on raises immediately: does this extend the campaign you are about to play?
"The Major Story DLC will tell a complete side story, separate from the main campaign, but still exploring the world and characters of Valor Mortis in even more depth."
So it is not the second half of the campaign, and not a continuation that leaves the main story unfinished. It is described as a self-contained story inside the same world — which is why it can arrive in 2027 without affecting whether the base game feels complete in 2026.
Is it worth it?
This page does not score the game, so it will not score the upgrade either. What it can do is lay out the decision as it actually is.
| If you… | Then… |
|---|---|
| Want the campaign and nothing else | Buy the $39.99 base game. The upgrade adds no content inside that campaign. |
| Want the extra story and know you will still be playing in 2027 | The upgrade bundles a story DLC and four cosmetic packs for $20.00 over the next year and a half. |
| Care mainly about cosmetics | Only one of the five items is available today; the other skin packs are dated to 2026 and 2027. |
The one thing that cannot be judged yet is quality. There is no released story DLC to evaluate and no reviews of it, so anyone telling you the upgrade is worth $20 is describing the item list, not the content.
Buying safely
- Buy through the official storefronts. Steam and the Xbox store are the routes the developer's own materials point to. Third-party key resellers are not mentioned anywhere official.
- Check the region price. $39.99 is the US listing read on this date; regional pricing differs, and so does the discount schedule.
- Do not expect a crack, key generator or "free" route to exist. This site does not provide or link them, and the status pages are about the released game only.
