Enshrouded 1.0 Skill Tree and Max Level: Build Planning Basics

Use the current level caps, understand the 1.0 skill-tree reset, and plan around weapon roles without relying on outdated Early Access builds.

Quick answer

Enshrouded 1.0 raises the player level cap to 50 and the equipment cap to 55. Keen changed skill placement and reset existing characters’ skill trees for 1.0, so older point-by-point builds may no longer match the live tree. Reinvest refunded points before leaving your base, choose a primary weapon loop first, and verify each named node in the current in-game tree before copying any pre-1.0 build.

The current caps and 1.0 reset

Player level cap
50 in Enshrouded 1.0.
Equipment level cap
55 according to Keen’s 1.0 combat overview.
Existing characters
Their skill trees were reset because skills moved and changed; reinvest the refunded points.

A level-50 character is not proof that every desired branch can be completed. Skill points, quest progression, Shroud Roots, and the live cost of each node still determine what a specific build can buy.

Plan from a combat loop, not a class label

  1. Choose the action you repeat: melee combo and defense, bow or dagger positioning, wand pressure, staff casting, or summons.
  2. Fund survival and resource needs: health, stamina, mana, movement, and Shroud time matter only in relation to that loop.
  3. Buy the shortest useful branch first: test the core interaction before spending toward distant hybrid nodes.
  4. Match gear to the tree: the 1.0 gear cap is 55, and upgraded weapons, spells, and arrows can have perks that alter the value of a node.
  5. Test one encounter type at a time: a boss, a dense group, and ordinary exploration expose different weaknesses.

Starting questions by weapon role

RoleBuild question to answer first1.0 consideration
MeleeIs damage limited by uptime, stamina, blocking, or survivability?Movement and animation changes can alter the feel of an old combo guide.
Bow / daggerDo you need piercing, durability support, or safer Shroud exploration?Keen added Puncture, Barrage, and Survival Instinct.
Wand / staffWill the build alternate quick wand attacks with slower high-impact staff casts?Wands gained heavy and movement attacks; Blast and Cast explicitly rewards switching.
SummonsAre skeletons, elemental totems, or direct spells the main source of pressure?1.0 adds summon spells plus Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery.

Confirmed 1.0 additions

Keen’s combat overview names nine new spells: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, three elemental summon totems, and Summon Hollow Skeleton. It also names mage skills Aerial Wand Attack, Wand Evasion Attack, Advanced Necromancy, Totem Mastery, and Blast and Cast; archer additions include Puncture, Barrage, and Survival Instinct.

These names confirm options, not a universal best build. Patch values, gear perks, party composition, and the fight being attempted determine performance.

Check an older build before copying it

  • Does the guide explicitly say Enshrouded 1.0 or show the current level-50 cap?
  • Can you find every named node at the same place in the live tree?
  • Does its point total include prerequisites rather than only highlighted end nodes?
  • Does it rely on an old spell tier, old gear cap, or pre-reset skill description?
  • Is the guide optimizing solo play, a party role, bosses, or general exploration?

What this page does not rank

This is a durable planning reference, not an “all best builds” list. The official sources reviewed do not provide a complete ranked meta or one correct allocation for every activity. A detailed build page should record the exact patch, all selected nodes, point total, gear, consumables, test target, and replacement options before making a best-build claim.
