Dragon's Dogma 2 Norgan guide — routes, rests, and key locations

Enter the Forsaken Dominion, establish the settlement loop and plan spoiler-light expeditions without claiming an unverified complete map.

Quick answer

Start Norgan by speaking with Captain Brant at The Stardrop Inn at night and choosing the new-Arisen dialogue reported by PC Gamer. Level 40 is the published recommendation, not a lock. In Norgan, identify the settlement’s rest, storage and appraisal functions first, then use short outward expeditions: recover unidentified relics, return to appraise them into weapons or skills, rebuild the party and push farther.

Scope: this is a spoiler-light expedition guide, not an “all locations” map. Capcom establishes Norgan, Eir, the Fallen Dragon and relic appraisal. The route and rest advice below is an editorial survival plan informed by launch coverage; unverified camp, Portcrystal and side-quest counts are not presented as complete.

Enter Norgan

  1. Own and enable Dark Arisen, then reach Vernworth.
  2. Visit Captain Brant at The Stardrop Inn at night.
  3. PC Gamer reports choosing “About the new Arisen…” to start the Forsaken Dominion route.
  4. Follow the new quest rather than trying to cross the northern boundary independently.

Level 40 is the published recommendation, not a hard lock. PC Gamer also reports that a save already in the Unmoored World must reach New Game+ before starting this route.

The Norgan expedition loop

1. PrepareCarry curatives, camping supplies, debilitation answers and a balanced Pawn party.
2. Push outwardUse one objective or landmark per trip; do not turn the first visit into an all-map sweep.
3. Recover relicsExplore and defeat new enemies for unidentified finds.
4. Return and appraiseBring relics back to the settlement to reveal weapons or skills, then rebuild the loadout.

The official Steam description confirms the relic loop and that it unlocks powerful new weapons and skills. Exact tiers, odds and appraisal costs belong to the separate relic guide and remain under verification.

Route priorities without an unverified map

  1. Secure the settlement first. Identify the appraiser, rest point, storage and exits before a long expedition.
  2. Follow the main objective to learn the safe corridor. Mark branches instead of clearing them while low on supplies.
  3. Place travel infrastructure only after confirming the destination. This guide does not claim a complete current Portcrystal list for Norgan.
  4. Return when loss gauge or supplies narrow your margin. Relic appraisal is part of progression, not cleanup after the whole region.

What changes in the snowy north

Longer recovery decisions: reviewer experience describes a demanding expedition rhythm; plan rest and retreat before the party is depleted.

New enemies and harsh terrain: Capcom describes an abandoned snowy region with formidable foes. Do not infer a safe road from base-game map habits.

Power comes through appraisal: unappraised finds are potential upgrades, so returning to the settlement can be more valuable than forcing the next encounter.

Still being mapped

  • Every campsite, cave, settlement service and side quest.
  • All fixed and portable Portcrystal rules inside the region.
  • Relic drop pools, appraisal costs, odds and hidden modifiers.
  • Post-launch route or balance changes.
