Tasha (ACE COMBAT 8): rank and Joker Flight role

Everything the publisher has published about Tasha — her rank, her flight position, the Zvezda background, and the name spellings that disagree.

Scope: Tasha of Joker Flight in ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, as described in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s own character announcement, official game overview and store listing

Quick answer

Tasha is an Ensign and Joker Flight No. 3 in ACE COMBAT 8. The publisher states that she was originally a star pilot in Zvezda, Yuktobania’s acrobatic team, and that she was aboard the carrier Endurance shooting publicity footage when the war broke out, so she stayed on the ship. Her age, birthday and height are not published, and the publisher’s own character announcement names no voice actor for her.

What the publisher has published

Tasha is one of the characters in the announcement Bandai Namco Entertainment published on September 4, 2026, which introduces “the pilots of Joker Flight and the crew of the FCU Endurance: pilots, officers, and survivors who make up the last fighting force of a nation on the brink.”

That announcement gives her rank as Ensign and her position as Joker Flight No. 3. It states that she was originally a star pilot in Yuktobania’s acrobatic team Zvezda, and that she was aboard the Endurance to shoot publicity footage when the war broke out, so she stayed on the ship. Those three points are the whole of her published biography.

The publisher’s own European game overview goes a step further in tone. Written as an in-fiction briefing from the carrier, it names her directly: “Then there’s Tasha Severskaya… Don’t underestimate this civvie. She was the star of an aerobatic troupe before the war and remains a fiend behind the flightstick.”

Everything below is organised the same way: a published detail, then the source it comes from, then what is missing. Nothing here is filled in from guesswork, and no age, family detail or story outcome is invented to complete the picture.

Rank, callsign and flight position

The publisher publishes her rank and her slot in the flight, and nothing beyond that about how she was posted there.

How she fliesAs a wingman under the player’s command. The official game page puts the player at the centre of a first-person campaign with “three new comrades at your side”, and the European overview states that the squad flies “under your command” and can be ordered to concentrate on a target, split up, cover you, or clear special weapons.

Before the war: Zvezda and Yuktobania

Two names in her biography come from the wider series rather than from this game, and they are worth separating.

Yuktobania is a nation of Strangereal, the shared world the numbered ACE COMBAT games use. It appears in earlier entries in the series, including ACE COMBAT 5: THE UNSUNG WAR. Nothing about that country is an ACE COMBAT 8 plot event — it is the answer to “where did she fly before?”.

Zvezda is named by the publisher as Yuktobania’s acrobatic team, and the announcement describes Tasha as its star pilot. That is the detail that separates her from the rest of the crew: her published record before the war is precision display flying rather than combat flying.

The publisher states that she was on the Endurance to film publicity footage when the war began and that she stayed with the ship. What it does not publish is how she came to be assigned to Joker Flight, what rank she held in the Zvezda team, or whether she had any combat training before joining. This page leaves those open rather than supplying a plausible version.

One further official trace of her exists outside the campaign: the publisher’s edition listings include a Tasha costume set inside the cosmetic set bundled with the Deluxe and Collector’s editions. It is a cosmetic item for the online side of the game, not a story detail — the editions page records the bundle as published.

Why her name is spelled more than one way

If you have searched for this character and found two surnames, you are not looking at two people. The publisher’s own material is inconsistent, and that inconsistency is the fact worth reporting.

What this means in practice: both spellings return the same ensign, so searching either one is fine. What it means for sourcing is that a single spelling cannot be presented as “the official name” without saying which publisher page it came from.

Longer form of the name. The full form “Anastasia Severskaya” circulates on community fan wikis. It is not a publisher spelling — it does not appear in the announcement, the game overview or the game page checked for this page. It is recorded here only so that readers can see where the version came from, and it should be treated as a community wiki detail rather than an official name.

Her place in the Joker Flight crew

The relationships the publisher describes for Tasha are with the crew she flies beside.

Baxter — Lieutenant Commander and Joker Flight No. 2, described by the announcement as “the calm hand that holds the rest of them together” and a former university lecturer who has never revealed what he taught. Tasha calls him “Teach”, and the publisher says the two of them can usually be found studying together in the mess.

Coster — Lieutenant Junior Grade and Joker Flight No. 4. The announcement describes him as a skilled wingman who can keep up with Tasha’s extreme manoeuvres and who provides her with cover. The European overview spells out the pairing in the briefing voice: “I don’t think I’ve seen anyone keep up with her, except for William Coster. He’ll be providing cover for Tasha.”

The fourth aircraft is the player’s. The campaign is presented in first person for the first time in the series, and the player is given the single name “Wings of Theve” — the same sign the character announcement gives to the Commander-rank leader of Joker Flight. Tasha therefore sits third in a flight commanded by the player.

The full roster, the carrier and the second flight are covered on the Joker Flight and the Endurance crew page.

Age, voice actor and what is not published

“How old is Tasha in ACE COMBAT 8” is one of the most common searches attached to this character. There is a reason it keeps failing.

  • Age, birthday and height: not published. The character announcement gives ranks and roles, not ages, and no official page checked for this profile prints a date of birth or a figure. Any number you see quoted elsewhere is an estimate by that site, not a publisher figure.
  • Voice actor: press reporting only. Third-party outlets report that a Bandai Namco Asia voice-cast announcement names Emi Lo as Tasha’s English voice and Chika Anzai as her Japanese voice, relayed by sites including Automaton. The publisher’s character announcement itself names no performers, and the official pages checked for this profile do not print a cast list, so this is press reporting rather than a publisher page. It is plausible — the official game page lists English and Japanese audio only — but this site does not present it as confirmed.
  • What happens to her in the story: not published here. No publisher material checked describes later campaign events or an ending, and no third-party plot summary is used to fill that gap.
  • Family, relationships and any romantic storyline: not published. The publisher describes working relationships — “Teach”, and Coster covering her — and nothing else.
  • Why she joined the FCU in a formal sense: not published. The announcement says she stayed on the ship; it does not set out a recruitment, a commission date, or terms.

The wider setting — the 2029 invasion, the FCU and the Endurance, and the fact that the “Wings of Theve” legend was invented — is set out on the story and setting page.

Sources and scope

Every published detail above is quoted from, or paraphrased directly from, one of those sources, each checked on October 15, 2026. This independent reference is not affiliated with Bandai Namco Entertainment or with any of its studios, and it does not host character artwork of its own.

Third-party material, labelled and not linked. The Emi Lo and Chika Anzai names come from voice-cast reporting relayed by outlets such as Automaton rather than from a publisher page, so they are marked as press reporting above. Community fan wikis are named in the spelling section for the same reason: to identify where a detail comes from, not to support a published fact.

How this reference is built

Bandai Namco Entertainment’s own announcement, game page and store listing anchor every published fact. Where the publisher has been silent, the page says so instead of filling the gap from a community wiki or a press relay.
